I’m back to quoting Dr. James DiNicolantonio (@drjamesdinic on IG). It’s a simple simple statement that hits home for bodybuilders…
Your body is the vehicle you travel the world in. I’d rather be a Ferrari than a garbage truck.
That has both visual and health implications…
You want to look good, but you also don’t want to fill your tank with garbage. That’s especially true for those of us who are older and whose bodies have a harder time disposing of the junk.
I’ve recently changed my eating habits somewhat due to a high PSA reading at my last blood test. For the uninitiated, that stands for Prostate-Specific Antigen, and a reading over 4.0 can indicate prostate trouble, including cancer…
Mine was 6.4. I saw a urologist, and he gave me three months till a retest. I did a number of things, which I will elaborate on in future newsletters and a new ebook, tentatively titled The Old Man, Young Muscle Diet (working on it, along with the training sequel to OMYM).
Two of my big keys were limiting alcohol and dairy, both of which can throw your hormones out of whack. My testosterone was over 700, so that wasn’t a problem; however, I thought that something could be causing my T to aromatize into E—estrogen. Wine? Casein? Whey?
My latest test came back, and my PSA went from 6.4 down to 2.3. The urologist was amazed and gave me a big thumbs up. Whew! (Much appreciation to reader of this newsletter, friend and researcher Elliott Horowitz, who called attention to a few things regarding diet and prostate health.)
My wife was with me at the urologist, and he told her that routine sex is mandatory for my health and a long life. Haha. I think she’s fortifying the locks on the garage door where she hides. To motivate her, I may have to cancel my life insurance.
Also, my training is going even better now with the new diet modifications. Here’s my most recent pic, taken a month before my 64th birthday…
I’m still using 35-to-45-minute workouts three days a week as in Old Man, Young Muscle, only I’ve integrated cables, which will be explained in OMYM2, coming at the end of August if all goes well. Stay tuned.
OMYM is your efficient fast-mass blueprint: Learn how to accelerate your mass gains with the STX method, Speed Sets, and complete ideal-exercise-based training. The 35-minute workouts also include the best stretch and contracted add-on moves. Get Old Man, Young Muscle.
And you still get The Muscle-On, Belly-Gone “Diet” ebook FREE for a limited time when you add Old Man, Young Muscle to your mass-building library. Go HERE.
Till next time, train hard—and smart—for BIG results.
