In a previous newsletter I mentioned the importance of stability during your weight workouts…
No, I’m not talking about wearing a rubber wetsuit—although it is a cool look…
Stability is creating a solid base for an exercise so that you can engage the most muscle fibers without balance problems or body shifting.
In a previous newsletter, I mentioned cable rows vs. chest-supported rows. Using chest support makes it less difficult for your torso to sway.
A similar example is cable crossovers vs. vertical-bench cable flyes. The more challenging the weight, the more your torso will shift without the back support…
But with a vertical bench behind you, you’ll feel much more powerful and be able to drive with superior pec activation.
There is setup time for the bench flyes—unless there’s a flye machine available. Either way, the braced stretch and more powerful contraction is well worth it.
And if you want to hit the gym in a rubber wetsuit, The Frog is an awesome nickname.
