Jonathan: Chest, Back, Abs (wrong workout)

It wasn’t until half way through today’s training session that I realized I was doing the wrong workout. LOL! Rather than saying I’m just getting old and losing my mind, I’ll say that I went with instinctive training today. My chest and back needed the work more than delts and arms, I guess…

Chest: DB incline presses (3×20,10,8–DP 3X); DB flyes (3×10 + StatX) ss Edge-gripping bench pushups (3×10 + X Reps)
Back: Chins (3×20,9,6–DP 3X); DB pullover (3×10 + StatX) ss DB stiff-arm kickbacks (3×10); Close-, parallel-grip DB rows (3×20,12,10–DP 3X)
Abs: Planks (3×60 sec–Stat) ss Full-range crunches (3×15 + X Reps)

Summary: I have a note board on my gym wall to make sure I don’t forget exercises, etc., but it didn’t work today. Mostly because I didn’t look at it when I started. LOL! It wasn’t until I was done with my first exercise for back that I realized what was going on. No harm, no foul. Chest work felt surprisingly great, and I was stronger than I expected. Actually, the whole workout was pretty phenomenal, so maybe it was on purpose. Sure! Only change, other than the wrong workout, was that I skipped the X-centric reps on the supersets, and ended the stretch exercises with StatX instead. That’s holding it in the stretch position on the final rep of the final set. I was good for about 12-15 seconds, but the burn is seriously unbearable, so I need to build up some more pain tolerance to take advantage of the intra-set stretching advantage.
