Legs, Chest & Triceps plus Snow Cardio – Jonathan

There’s nothing like the feeling of finishing a great workout and then looking out to see it’s time for snow cardio. Yup, there was enough snow overnight that I had to quickly shovel the driveway to get the family rolling for the day…

Legs: Squats (2×10,9); Sissy squats (1×14); Leg extensions (2×15,12); Stiff-legged deadlifts (2×15,10); Leg curls (2×15,10)
Calves: Donkey calf raises (2×35,30); One-legged calf raises (2×15)
Chest: Incline DB presses (2×20,10); Incline flyes (1×12); DB bench presses (2×15,10); Flat bench flyes (1x1o)
Triceps: Extensions (2×14,12); Overhead extensions (1×12); Bench dips (1×15)

Note: My split is based on the Phase 2 routine in The X-traordinary Size Surge Workout 2.0 e-book.

Legs, Chest & Triceps plus Snow Cardio Summary

I woke up amped to train today. I was looking forward to hitting every muscle group hard, and it didn’t hurt that I had a new pre-workout I was anxious to try. I was particularly looking forward to it because of the long list of ingredients, many of which I’ve tried before and I few I hadn’t. I was also fond of the idea of a pre-workout that was stimulant-free. No disappointment at all – MegaTron worked as advertised! Pump was outstanding and you can see by my rep counts that strength took a big uptick by the time I hit chest.

The pump came on strong from early in the workout, but my strength started creeping up a bit slowly at first, then it got to the point of being silly when I got to chest. That was most likely the beta-alanine (as much as I’d like to take credit for my extreme intensity). Strength has been on the rise anyway, but this it was bumped up even further today. Good times!

Not many changes through the workout other than needing to revise my weights next time. I did end triceps with bench dips instead of kickbacks, but that was just for some variety. The biggest shocker of all was needing to do snow cardio almost immediately after such a great workout. LOL! The driveway was covered in snow, so I had to clear the way for my wife to get our son to school. Luckily, it was mostly covered with more snow by the time I finished, so I get to look forward to hitting the driveway snow cardio session again later this afternoon. Double split!
