Jonathan: Winter Weather Gym Prep

It’s the last Monday training session of Size Surge Phase 1 before I go into Phase 2 next week, but the biggest thing on my mind (aside from getting an awesome workout) was the fact that it’s going to be crazy cold in the gym on Wednesday. I was mentally in winter weather gym prep mode after the workout. Twenty degrees colder should jack the intensity up nice and high…

Legs: Squats (2×15,12); Leg extensions (2×18,12); Stiff-legged deadlifts (1×15); Leg curls (2×15,10)
Chest: Incline DB presses (2×15,12); Incline flyes (1×12); DB bench presses (2×15,10)
Back: Chins (2×12,10); Bent-over rows (2×12,10)
Shoulders: DB presses (2×15,12); DB upright Rows (2×12,10)
Calves: Standing calf raises (2×20,15)

Winter Weather Gym Prep Summary

Knowing that this is the last week of Phase 1 makes it easy to put a lot into the training, though the tension times are lower than I’ve been used to lately, so it takes a bit of extra effort to wrap my head around that. I did bump up the set numbers for legs a bit today, as it just felt like I needed a little more. Great workout all around, though, and already looking forward to Wednesday’s workout. Should be in the 20s outside, so that’ll mean about 40 in the gym. Even better when Friday rolls around, as the overnight temps could get into the single digits by then. It seems so wrong to look forward to the cold so much. LOL
