So… For those following our training blogs here on X-Rep.com, you may have noticed I haven’t been around since July. My training blogs were sporadic at best because of my work schedule, and then I started a new venture in the late summer which completely took me away from being able to post updates, but I’m back in action… [Read more…]
Jonathan: Summer in the Dungeon
The heat is on! Summer in the dungeon gym is actually a pretty nice place to be, as the basement is the coolest part of the house, and it’s been hot ‘n humid for several weeks straight. A few breaks with thunderstorms and temps in the 80s, but it’s otherwise been mid- to upper-90s through most of June and July. The cool dungeon training zone is helping to keep the intensity and motivation up, though… [Read more…]
Jonathan: Fierce Friday (upper body)
Great leg workout yesterday, though I tried jump squats to start the workout just for “fun.” I’m not sure why anyone thought of those. LOL! Actually, with a light-ish weight, they weren’t so bad, and all the other work led to some seriously sore legs this morning. Since everything got hit once already this week, I opted to go all upper body today so I can slip in another leg day tomorrow… [Read more…]
Jonathan: Torched Tuesday (chest, lats, triceps, abs)
I changed things up today by training first thing in the morning rather than a couple hours after waking (and eating). Yes, that meant training on an empty stomach, but it resulted in a pretty impressive pump, and a solid workout always gets the blood flowing through my brain a bit better, so we’ll see what it does for productivity… [Read more…]
Jonathan: MIA Monday (delts, midback, biceps, forearms)
Full-on MIA Monday. Time flies, as it’s been nearly a full month since I posted a training blog, and my last one happened to be on my birthday. No, I haven’t been celebrating nonstop. LOL! Simply not enough time in the day, but I’ll be attempting to bring my blogs back into the daily schedule… [Read more…]
Jonathan: Mid-March Madness
Hard to believe this is my first training blog of the month, but it’s been a big dose of Mid-March Madness, and I’m not talking about basketball. Simply been too busy to grab a few moments to summarize my training each day, but never too busy to hit the gym…
Jonathan: Monday Mania (delts, midback, biceps, forearms)
Bringing TORQ back into the last delts+ workout was definitely productive, so it was the name of the game for Monday Mania today. Pump was outrageous, an I have a feeling the soreness will be severe tomorrow since there was some stretch-position TORQ… [Read more…]
Jonathan: TORQ Twist (delts, midback, biceps)
Went into the gym ready to duplicate Monday’s workout, but decided on a TORQ twist at the last minute. Oh, yeah… THAT’s what muscle burn and a ferocious pump feels like… [Read more…]
Jonathan: Earn the Burn (Legs)
Following the same protocol as my last leg workout, I decided to earn the burn again this morning. Hitting the contracted position first on legs is intense and makes for some seriously deep muscle burn, but that’s not even close to a complain. Though it is a pretty good excuse to let the expletives flow in the early-morning hours…
Jonathan: Good Time Tuesday (chest, lats, triceps, abs)
That was a good time Tuesday workout. Brief rest periods kept the metabolic momentum going, and the blood was flowing for a serious pump. Chest, back, and triceps felt full and fantastic… [Read more…]
