Perfect timing for a cold/flu. Yes, that was definite sarcasm. It’s Turkey Time tomorrow, and I came down with a little something on Monday night. Actually, the whole family seems to have the same thing. I took yesterday as a rest from training, hoping to recover and go 100% today. No such luck. I felt the need to train, however, so I dialed it back a bit to make sure I’m feeling decent enough for high volumes of turkey intake tomorrow…
Delts: Alternate DB presses (3×12,10,8); Lateral raises (2×15,12 + X Reps)
Triceps: DB extensions (2×18,12 + X Reps); Seated kickbacks (2×12 + X Reps)
Biceps: Standing curls (2×18,12 + X Reps); Concentration curls (2×12 + X Reps)
Forearms: Forearm rockers (2×15,12 + X Reps)
Note: My split is based on the POF MMX Mega-Mass Workout in the new e-book MMX Fast Mega-Mass Workouts–the Max-Muscle X-pansion System.
Summary
I brought the volume down a bit today, mostly because I knew that once the blood was flowing I’d have a hard time dialing back the intensity. I tried to stop short, but it’s tough when it feels so good. LOL! I dropped all stretch-position exercises today to ensure a slight decrease, and it seems to have worked well. Muscle pump was still good across the board, though I was dealing with a bit of full-body aching, which has me thinking flu instead of a cold. I have no intention of feeling like this tomorrow, though, so Turkey Time will commence as usual, and I’ll be training legs first thing in the morning if all goes to plan (fingers and white blood cells crossed).
