Q: I know you do an upper-body, lower-body split, and Doug splits his muscles over three workouts. My question is, Do you like the push/pull split? Also, does Doug do three-on, one-off or six straight workouts then take a day off?
A: Your second question is easiest to answer, so I’ll start there. Doug “Mr. America” Brignole currently uses a three-way split, and he trains six days in a row.
That allows him to work every muscle twice every seven days with four sets per muscle—so eight sets total each week.
As for your first question, push/pull seems like a logical way to split your workouts. For example, pulldowns would be pull and bench presses would be push. So back and chest on different days…
But push/pull is actually a myth.
Think about it: All muscles pull. You may consider a bench press pushing, but it’s actually your pecs pulling your upper arms toward your sternum and your triceps pulling your forearm to straighten your elbows…
So no muscle “pushes.” Still, if you like to divide your muscle groups that way, there’s nothing wrong with it—but it’s certainly not the magic mass-building split decision.

Walk Around with Veiny Arms All Day!
You know that feeling you get right after a great workout? When you look and feel huge with that massive post-workout pump? Imagine feeling like that ALL day…
Frank Rich’s program can help you carry that just-worked-out look all day, and he’s offering it to our readers for almost nothing.
>>> Try Frank’s Massthetic Arms here
It’s one thing to develop big arms, but when they look solid and have veins streaking all over, that’s when people really notice.
Frank has research showing that arm vascularity (the denseness and veininess) is more desirable to women than 6-pack abs, and if you’ve been following any fitness stuff on social media lately, you know that’s a fact.
We know from our own years of experience with being in various levels of conditioning that we get a LOT more looks when walking through the grocery store or running random errands when we have veins streaking down our arms.
>>> So if you’re ready to create massive arms that are thick and veiny, then click here.
Oh, and Frank’s new arm program (*plus all the bonuses*) is only $9 today, so take advantage while you can.
