Q: Does the Old Man, Young Muscle 2 workout work for women? My wife is interested in trying it. Does your wife use it?
A: I’m biased, but I think it’s an incredibly effective training regimen for men and women—of any age…
Yes, my wife uses it, but her approach is a bit different in that she likes whole-body workouts…
She only has time to train with weights twice a week due to being a full-time nanny to our two-year-old granddaughter.
So she uses add-on exercises sporadically, usually for muscles she wants to specialize on, like shoulders.
Here’s a shot of her right before she was getting in our backyard sauna. Not too bad for a 62-years-old grandma…
She also does the elliptical at my daughter’s house once or twice a week, when time permits.
Her weight-training is the STX method on the ideal exercises for most muscle groups with an add-on exercise here and there.
So two sets per muscle—sometimes three. But remember, it’s full-body workouts, so she keeps the volume for each body part at a minimum.
Her weight workouts take her 45 minutes…
She also gets some residual cardio when she runs to hide in the garage every time I disrobe for a shower.
