I woke up with an epiphany–I got a fever for more stretch overload. I haven’t really trained the stretch moves with heavier weights in a while, so I decided to do Stretch MMX today. I felt it from the first exercise–talk about change to gain…
Quads/Hams: Sissy squats (2×18,8 + StatX); DB stiff-leggeddeadlifts (2×17,9 + StatX)
Calves: (Leg press calf raises (2×21,12 + StatX)
Chest: Flat-bench flyes (2×20,9 + StatX)
Stretch-Overload Friday
Back: DB shrugs (2×22,12 + StatX); DB pullovers (2×18,9)
Delts: DB upright rows (1×14); Lateral-shrugs (1×10)
Brachialis: Cable rope hammer curls (1×14)
Abs: Full-range bench crunches (1×24)
Note: My current program is based on methods in the new e-book MMX Fast Mega-Mass Workouts–the Max-Muscle X-pansion System.
Stretch-Overload Friday Summary
This was a real change, as I haven’t done any heavy stretch moves for a while–only using them as the first high-rep set of Compound Aftershock supersets. That is stretch move for 20 reps followed immediately by a big compound (midrange) exercise for 8-10. Today’s all-stretch attack with heavier weights was just way the muscle doctor ordered. Even with such low volume, I still felt unique stress on every target muscle.
