Lay Cable for Home-Grown Muscle

Could a home gym get you bigger faster? Not necessarily as your only training option, but as a convenient alternative when you need it…

It can be a godsend when you don’t feel like driving to a commercial gym, simply don’t have time, or need some change to gain…

And it doesn’t take a huge investment. In Old Man Young Muscle, I detail how I got gains that shocked even me during the Covid pandemic in my my spare-bedroom bare-bones home gym. Here’s my six months of progress—no steroids, no Photoshop…

F9 Fold-Away Functional Trainer

Recommendation: If you go the bare-bones route, consider the 90-pound PowerBlock set (around $750). If you splurge on a cable unit, go for at least 200-pound weight stacks.…

After using STX rest/pause for a few years, I’m outrunning my 50-pound PowerBlocks and 150-pound weight stacks for many exercises…

STX builds muscle AND gets you stronger with 35-to-40-minute workouts 3 times a week—even if you’re in your 60s like me and only train at home.
