When you train hard consistently, cumulative stress will get to you eventually. I should have that posted somewhere so I can see it daily.
Why? Because I keep revisiting the same scenario in my training, especially after I passed age 60…
It’s summer, so I’ve been hitting my workouts pretty hard lately. But…
After visiting my 18-month old granddaughter who was just getting a runny nose, I caught the bug. I shouldn’t have put those blocks in my mouth to make her laugh. The snot bubble made me realize it was too late…
I had to miss almost an entire week of training. Damn it! But a funny thing happened…
Whenever I looked in the mirror, I kept seeing a harder, bigger, and even more vascular physique. Had I been overtraining for weeks on end?
Could be—or was it just cumulative stress that had come to a head…
Either way, it’s a good reminder that three to five days off—or at least easy workouts for a week—can allow for extra supercompensation to happen. That can unleash a growth spurt. Ill take it—however…
It begs the question: Was I doing too much the entire time? It’s a guessing game and often a moving target as you get older.
Some say that if you’re not getting stronger at every workout, you’re overtraining. Kind of ridiculous…
Getting stronger at every workout means that I should be decline pressing 400-pound dumbbells after all these years. It’s just not going to happen.
You have to go by appearance and how you feel.…
For example, I shouldn’t get so sick. But if I’m overtrained, my immune system is in the toilet. That ushers in snot, aches, and missed workouts. Avoid!
So lesson learned—again. And I’m analyzing my weekly schedule—again. I will make some changes as an experiment…
The older we get, the more the target moves—and that target is a lot blurrier too. Where are my specs?

ANABOLIC HORMONE RESET SOLUTION
Yes, it is possible to simultaneously build muscle while losing fat…
The right form of intermittent fasting will help you gain more muscle while you burn fat…
That’s because it supercharges your anabolic environment, including testosterone and growth hormone production.
According to Dr. Michael Mosley, it results in “better metabolic adaptations, improved muscle-protein synthesis and a higher anabolic response to post-exercise feedings.” [J App Phys., Jan. 2011: 236-45]
Proper fasting will NOT have you burning muscle—just the opposite as your body fat decreases and your testosterone and growth hormone increase. [Webber, J., et al. (1994). Br J Nutr.]
Still on the fence? Our friend Shaun Hadsall used an approach similar to how The Rock does it, which is explained in the new 1-Day Hormone Reset protocol, developed specifically for the over-40 crowd (women use it too, as you’ll see). Check out his results at the link below…
