I’ve mentioned that anabolic drugs make a huge difference in results you can achieve in the gym…
MarkusFit, a bodybuilder on Instagram, has shown that with photos of himself off and on anabolics. Here are his before- and after-drugs photos…
Worth it? That’s more than a 40-pound difference—bigger and thicker with more of a bodybuilder presence. But at what cost? There’s no way to know.
He also posted some shots of himself next to a 172-pound natural bodybuilder who is about his same height. Quite a contrast—but, again, is it worth it?
Health risks such as kidney damage, fatty liver, heart problems, etc. are possible, not to mention less-serious afflictions like acne and gynecomastia.
Personally, I’ll take looking like the kid on the right all day. He’s impressive despite not having fuller, more overblown muscles…
I’d rather not risk my health, even for 40 pounds—but that’s just me. I’m 63, and looking back, I’m glad I didn’t use. I may not be here if I had; who knows?…
The question is, would a natural MarkusFit have eventually reached that 220-pound cut bodyweight with the right training and years of patience? Hard to say.
I started with a praying-mantis physique, weighing 120. I never reached a cut 200 while staying natural. I now weigh around 190 with abs—in the right light…
After all of these years, I think my training is the best and most efficient it’s ever been. I hit my home gym three times a week with 40-minute workouts…
I emphasize the ideal exercise for each muscle and add on others—but I’m still learning and not using drugs, not even hormone replacement therapy at this point.
I believe it’s all about the journey, not the destination. And I’ll choose the healthier route every time.
It’s been fun and satisfying trying to figure out this muscle-building thing naturally. Arnold is no doubt glad I made that choice and didn’t take him down at his last Olympia.

Build MASS with bodyweight training
One way you’re guaranteed to pack on stacks of muscle is through a process called muscle protein synthesis (MPS), which more than doubles 24 hours after an intense workout…
Until recently, MPS was only elevated when trainees would lift 70-90% of their one-rep max…
That’s not only dangerous for your joints, but it also sets you up for high injury risk every time you exercise…
It used to be believed that training with your own bodyweight couldn’t get you the same results as training with your 70-90% one rep max… Until NOW.
