A rare photo of Arnold demonstrating the Stationary Torture Toboggan, a cardio machine popularized in his Austrian homeland.
Wait, that’s a cable row. Even so, the shot shows Arnold’s all-out intensity, which he usually reserved for the last set or two of an exercise.
Arnold did up to 20 sets per body part back in the day, but that was “on-season” when he was on “special supplements.”
Talking to his training partners from his prime, they all said that Arnold had incredible receptors for anabolics. He would blow up in a matter of weeks.
So what did he look like off-season? Here’s a shot of him, still in good condition but more normal…
Note the length of his biceps and traps as well as his pecs. That indicates potential for size. And we know Arnold got massive.
Here’s a shot of him and his evil twin Helmut, who talked Arnold into doing the movie “Jingle All the Way.”
We kid. All of Arnold’s movies were great. ;-o
