Here’s a unique shot of Arnold on a hotel balcony back in the ’60s. We’re not sure who took the pic, but our guess is it’s Hawaii, as the Oak’s flowered trunks suggest.
Arnold was big, no question. His arm looks as big as his head here. Yes, he had great genetics for sure, but his training took his potential to the stratosphere…
We’ve talked about his multi-angular workouts before, which he did from the beginning…
Arnold was also a fan of size-surging stretch exercises, like overhead extensions for huge, sweeping triceps and flat-bench fyes for his massive pecs—both on display in the above photo.
In fact, Arnold did stretch-position resistance exercises for almost every bodypart—except quads. We never saw photos of him doing sissy squats, the ideal stretch move for front thighs.
It’s interesting that many of Arnold’s critics said his quads were the one body part that lagged. Hmm.
Personally, we appreciated that Arnold had more athletic legs. He looked like he could run on the beach without crushing his nuts or getting a severe rash. LOL.
The point is, he may have gotten fuller quads with more emphasis on stretch-position work…
For example, the original Quad Father, Tom Platz, was a big fan of sissy squats, even holding the stretch with weight on the hack machine. Pain to gain…
