A shirtless Zane certainly turned heads—especially at the bank—and his physique is still considered an example of sculpted perfection today, within the grasp of average guys.

The three-time Mr. Olympia weighed in the 180s at 5’9” onstage, and vanquished bodybuilders much heavier and larger.

It’s no secret that the key to Zane’s bodybuilding success was crisp definition with etched proportion and attention to detail—liked round, capped shoulders and delineated abs, even when relaxed.

He’s a shining example of the fact that when you’re ripped, you can still appear muscularly massive.

So if you want to look bigger than you actually are, drop some fat, but do it slowly and methodically to retain your muscle. Too fast and you starve away mass.
