Steve: MMX Compound Aftershock (iso legs, delts, arms, abs)
Steve: Legs, Chest, Back, Abs (2-set Compound Aftershock)
Jonathan: Legs (legtastic)
I ended up with an opportunity I couldn’t turn down for Veteran’s Day yesterday, so I pushed the training day into a legtastic Thursday. Great workout! Quads got hammered, and hams and calves felt ultra swollen, too… [Read more…]
Jonathan: Legs (Wobbly Wednesday)
Yowza! This ended up being a seriously wobbly Wednesday after the workout. My legs were shaking so much going up the stairs to get out of the gym that I thought they might be nervous about asking my wife out on a date this weekend. LOL! Quads, hams, and calves were all blasted… [Read more…]
Jonathan: Legs (shake-n-bake)
I really wanted to feel a deep burn in my quads today, so it was a shake-n-bake leg day. They were on fire, and I even made the ridiculous decision to increase the churn ‘n burn by hopping on the bike for a few rounds of high-intensity intervals to really finish them off… [Read more…]
Jonathan: Legs (lap-a-thon training)
It was a big lap-a-thon training day today. Okay, maybe not much different than other leg days, but when I was done training, I have to admit I was thinking about how sore my legs might be at my son’s fundraising lap-a-thon tomorrow. Good times ahead… [Read more…]

In fact, I began with a pretty rigorous superset of two types of squats and actually added a superset. D’oh!… [Read more…]
Steve: Full-Body (opposing-muscle supersets)
Felt a bit under the weather this morning–too much football watching yesterday maybe. Lol. I plowed through my workout of opposing-muscle supersets anyway, and it actually felt pretty good–although on the very first superset I had to substitute DB stiff-legged deadlifts for Flat-back hypers. Interesting how much more of a drain the deadlifts are… [Read more…]
Steve: Full-Body (antagonist-muscle supersets)
I hit the gym with a lot of motivation. My full-body workout was swirling in my head, and I was telling myself, “Okay, you need to add this for chest and that for delts.” Then I realized that the reason I was motivated: I was recovered from my last workout on Tuesday. Why add more work and possibly drain and overtrain myself? It’s one reason I often say that motivation can be your enemy. I came to my senses and pretty much mirrored Tuesday’s workout–with a few exercise switches… [Read more…]
