This is a great photo of Lee Haney at his peak, standing relaxed outside. Absolutely flawless mass. Imagine him holding a leash with a poodle at the end. Like a moving sculpture in a Speedo out walking his dog. LOL…
Seriously, this is physique perfection in our opinion.
Interesting that he still trains hard today, maintaining his muscular physique into his 60s. That’s impressive. And get this: He has ZERO injuries from all of his Mr. O assaults. Why? He trained with moderate poundages only, as his most famous quote verifies…
Exercise to stimulate, not annihilate.
Contrast that with the Mr. Olympias who trained with mega-heavy poundages. Most can’t train without severe pain, and some are nearly crippled.
We got on the “stimulate don’t annihilate” bandwagon as we approached middle age and got a jolt of wisdom—and mass. We had a few injuries from training too heavy—Steve has a bad shoulder from powerlifting bench pressing and Jonathan has recurring lower-back twinge from heavy squats. But that’s it.
